In 2014, the UCSB chapter of Phi Beta Kappa created the Hal Drake Honor Key to honor emeritus Professor Hal Drake for his more than 40 years of service to the chapter. It is awarded each year to the highest-achieving History or History of Public Policy, Low, and Governance major selected for admission to the nation’s oldest and most prestigious honor society, with preference to students who successfully completed the departmental Senior Honors Seminar.
