Congratulations to this year’s winner of the Phi Alpha Theta Best First Book Award, Dr. Mateo M. Farzaneh, for The Iranian Constitutional Revolution and the Clerical Leadership of Khurasani. Dr. Farzaneh is an Associate Professor of History of the Islamic World and the Modern Middle East at Northeastern Illinois University-Chicago. Dr. Farzaneh’s PhD is from UC Santa Barbara, where he studied with Nancy Gallagher, Steve Humphreys, and others.
