I am a historian specializing in nineteenth-century Peru, with a particular interest in political, military, and social history. My research focuses on the formation of armies—especially the militias or National Guards—and their connection with political actors of both regional and national scope, with the aim of understanding how political life was shaped in nineteenth-century Peru from a microhistorical perspective. My undergraduate thesis was dedicated to the study of Domingo Elías, a prominent landowner and merchant from Ica who sought to gain power in a context dominated by military caudillos.

On a personal note, I enjoy reading Peruvian literature and I am an avid football fan, a supporter of Club Universitario de Deportes.
