11th Annual Frank K. Kelly Lecture on Humanity’s Future
Daniel Ellsberg is America’s best known whistleblower for his role
in releasing the Pentagon Papers in 1971, a move that harkened an end
to U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War and exposed government deceit
and illegality at the highest levels.
In the 1960s, he became a strategic analyst at the RAND Corporation
and consultant to the Department of Defense and the White House,
specializing in the command and control of nuclear weapons, nuclear
war plans, and crisis decisionmaking.
Since the end of the Vietnam War, Daniel Ellsberg has
been a lecturer, writer and activist on the dangers of the nuclear era
and unlawful interventions.
