Paolo Squatriti of the University of Michigan: “Storms Floods and Climate Change in the Dark Ages: An Italian Case” and D. Fairchild Ruggles of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign: “Islamic Gardens in the Mediterranean (7th-15th Centuries): Environmental Perspectives on Water and Landscape” with a comment by David Cleveland of the UCSB Environmental Studies Program.
