Thomas Cardoza graduated with distinction in 1998. His major field was European history, and his dissertation was La Belle Cantinière: Women in the French Army, 1750-1913. His dissertation director was J.E. Talbott, and additional committee members were Patricia Cohen, Michael Osborne, Tsuyoshi Hasegawa, and Catherine Nesci (French & Italian). Professor Cardoza has taught at UC San Diego, Arizona State University (Barrett, the Honors College), and most recently at Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno, Nevada, where he is Humanities Professor and Humanities Department Chair.
