Rose Hayden-Smith is an advocate for sustainable food systems who works as an academic for the University of California Cooperative Extension and UC Office of the President (UCOP). In 2014 her book about the legacy of victory gardens was published by McFarland. Rose is the the the voice behind UCOP’s fast-growing UC Food Observer (UCFO) platform, a daily blog and social presence that provides a unique take on news and issues relating to the world of food and agriculture. (It’s part of UC’s Global Food Initiative).
