I specialize in the history of modern Latin America with a specific focus on university politics and youth culture in Argentina during the twentieth century. My current research agenda explores the conflict surrounding the formation of Argentina’s first private universities in 1958. My overarching concern is with the way that interpretations of history are used for political aims and with the way that the idea of “childhood” is used to legitimize political objectives.
