Paul Starr, “America’s Peculiar Struggle over Health Care, Then and Now.” Starr is co-Founder of The American Prospect, Professor of Sociology and Public Affairs at Princeton University, author of Remedy and Reaction: The Peculiar American Struggle Over Health-Care Reform as well as the Pulitzer Prize winning: The Social Transformation of American Medicine (1982). He has served as a senior advisor to President Bill Clinton on healthcare policy. His talk will be followed by a symposium on “Healthcare Rights and Healthcare Reform from Medicare to Obamacare,” featuring reports from the front lines of state and local, official and grassroots efforts to implement the Affordable Care Act.
