Professor Hahamovitch explores exploited labor systems in the colonial period and the guest worker programs in the United States during the post-war period.
About our speaker:

Cindy Hahamovitch is the author of The Fruits of Their Labor: Atlantic Coast Farmworkers and the Making of Migrant Poverty, 1870-1945 (1997). Her No Man’s Land: Jamaican Guestworkers in America and the Global History of Deportable Labor (2012) won the Rawley and Curti Awards from the Organization of American Historians as well as the Philip Taft Labor History Prize.
