Prof. Erika Rappaport’s book A Thirst for Empire: How Tea Shaped the Modern World was recently awarded the biannual Book Prize at the Pacific Coast Conference on British Studies (the PCCBS is an affiliate of the North American Conference on British Studies). A Thirst for Empire previously won the Gourmand award for Best Book on Tea in the World and has received excellent reviews in several publications including The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.
