DESCRIPTION:As part of the The Center for the Study of Work\, Labor\, and Democracy‘s Winter Quarter speaker series\, Jennifer Burns (History\, Stanford University) will present “The Last Conservative: The Life of Milton Friedman.” Professor Burns is the author of Goddess of the Market: Ayn Rand and the American Right (2009)\, and is now at work on a biography of economist Milton Friedman. She publishes articles and interventions on conservatism\, libertarianism\, and liberalism in academic journals as well as The New York Times\, Dissent\, and The New Republic.
