DESCRIPTION:Speaker:\nSusan Levine\nProfessor of History at the University of Illinois\, Chicago\n\nEvent Description:\nThe Colloquium on Work\, Labor\, and Political Economy inaugurates the fall workshop series with a talk on October 16 by Susan Levine\, Professor of History at the University of Illinois\, Chicago. She offers a paper\, “‘The Moral Challenge of Abundance’: Humanitarianism and the Rise of the Food Aid Complex after World War II.” Her most recent book is School Lunch Politics: The Surprising History of America’s Favorite Welfare Program (2010).
